Initial Assessment
(Includes two outpatient consultations, laboratory investigations)

Patients with chronic viral hepatitis are assessed at initial consultation and at a follow-up appointment one week later with the results of their laboratory investigations, following which they are deemed either suitable or unsuitable for therapy.

Six- and twelve-month comprehensive treatment packages include outpatient assessments by consultant physician & nurse specialist, laboratory investigations, treatment costs, a 24-hour telephone helpline, and end-of-treatment assessment.

Hepatitis B - Twelve Month Treatment
Hepatitis C - Six Month Treatment
Hepatitis C - Twelve Month Treatment

Once incorporated into the treatment programme, patients are assessed by our Hepatitis Nurse Specialist, taught to self-administer their medications, and monitored subsequently for the development of side effects of treatment.

Patients are initially reviewed on a weekly basis, undergo weekly laboratory investigations with dose adjustment to their therapy for the first month, then fortnightly for the second month of treatment, then monthly until the completion of their therapy.

Some patients may require hospitalisation for a short period to initiate therapy. Patients on Hepatitis C, twelve-month treatment plan who fail to respond at four months will discontinue their therapy, and 50% of overall treatment costs will be reimbursed in respect for unused portion of treatment package.

All patients who complete treatment undergo an end-of-treatment assessment six months following the completion of treatment to establish whether they have been cured of their chronic infection.

Competitive, transparent, and inclusive package costs include medical supervision, a 24-hour helpline, laboratory investigations and treatment costs. Payment is made in advance on account.
